AT THE HEART OF OUR ORGANISATION
We regularly give to local and national charities. Who we choose can be as a result of an appeal following a national or international disaster. For example money was donated to the Manchester bombing appeal. We also help local charities and we regularly give to the Friary in West Bridgford, who operate a help centre for local disadvantaged people. Sometimes our members receive treatment from a “health” charity and we have given many times to this type of organisation including Alzheimer’s Research, Prostate Cancer, McMillan Cancer, Air Ambulance, Parkinson’s Disease, British Heart Foundation to name a few. We also have supported appeals from local hospital and hospices for children and adults. In short, we give what we can to whom we can, irrespective of a connection with Masonry. We are open to approaches from anyone for contributions, but in the first instance it is important to ascertain that it is a registered charity. Contributions donated by an individual Mason are not a pre-determined uniform amount, but are left to what the individual can afford. As an organisation Masons come from very diverse backgrounds with varied financial ability.
If we as an individual Lodge cannot assist or believe you would be better served elsewhere within Masonry, we would be happy to direct you.
